About specialist
I attended Dartmouth College after high school and majored in Liberal Arts. While working for the former Surgeon General, Dr. C. Everett Koop, I was inspired to follow my heart to medical school. I attended Tulane University for medical school. I chose a residency in Family Medicine at UCLA. I decided to pursue further training in Geriatric Medicine and Palliative Care after I was accepted to two fellowships at the University of Colorado.
My career started primarily in Geriatrics, Palliative Care, and Pain Management working as a hospital consultant, Medical Director, and Attending Physician in my private practice. During that time, I started a Patient Advocacy Consulting company as well to navigate elderly patients lost in the medical system to the right care at the right place and time. I found pharmaceutical research when I was asked to take over the Medical Director position in an Early Phase/First in Human clinical research company running safety trials in new pharmaceutical medications. These medications treated multifarious conditions ranging from Gout to HIV. I eventually worked in a specialized global unit of physicians overseeing the safety and scientific integrity of Phase 1 research trials internationally. My interests in aging, pharmacology, and the opportunity to improve peoples’ immediate lives brought me to Renew Vitality.
