About specialist
Ms. AnnMarie Butler, RN, A-GPCNP-C, is a board-certified nurse practitioner in Adult- Gerontological Primary Care and has more than 18 years of experience in the health profession. She began her medical journey by pursing an undergraduate degree in Biology with a concentration in Nutrition, graduating Cum Laude from Cornell University. Ms. Butler then obtained a second bachelor’s degree, in nursing, in an accelerated program at Binghamton University. In 2013 she finished a master’s degree in nursing for Adult-Gerontological Primary Care from Stony Brook University. This was accomplished while working full time in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit of Magnet-Status St. Francis Hospital, in New York and while raising her first child. Ms. Butler is currently enrolled in a P.h.D. program with Saybrook University for Integrative and Functional Nutrition, with a minor in Mind and Body Medicine.
Along with one year of medical-surgical RN experience and 7 years of ICU RN experience, Ms. Butler has 10 years of experience as a nurse practitioner. She was worked in a clinic that served a population of Spanish-speaking, migrant workers. Ms. Butler learned how to conduct a medical interview and discuss a treatment plan in Spanish at an intermediate level. She then worked as an Acute-Care nurse practitioner on an oncology ward, for Northwell health, and Northwell University Hospital. It was here that Ms. Butler learned how to effectively handle emergent situations while coordinating care needed beyond the hospital stay. Ms. Butler then transferred to an endocrinology office within the Northwell Health entity. She learned how to manage diabetes and how to investigate and supplement for hormonal deficiencies. Later she moved from NY to Kansas and established her own tutoring business; preparing RN’s and NP’s to pass their licensure examinations. Ms. Buter continues to tutor and attend school, while bringing her skills in endocrinology to the Renew Vitality team! Her continued education in nutrition and mind and body medicine is just an additional component Ms. Butler brings to client care. She seeks to combine her experience as a practitioner of western medicine with a more holistic approach, supported by research evidence, along with Renew Vitaly’s programs. Not only does Ms. Butler want to prevent illness; she wants to help contribute to her clients’ wellness. Health is not the lack of illness. Health is vitality! Health is when you wake in the morning refreshed and ready to hit the ground running, day after day.
